Electroplating Research

Sandia's Plating Research Lab is the only classified surface finishing facility for non-nuclear components. Scientists work with various metallic and non-metallic parts that are used to directly support the laboratories' nuclear weapons mission. Learn more by touring the Micro and Nano Technologies Laboratories (MANTL).

DNA Sequencing of Pathogens

Researchers at the ABL use DNA sequencing to find the pathogen making people sick. They filter pathogen DNA from host DNA and use a sequencer that can reveal the DNA sequence of the pathogen. Learn more by touring the Applied Biosciences Laboratory (ABL).
